Alaska Fire Safety (Updated 7/7/2008)

Alaska: BH 271 – a proposed ban on Brominated Fire Retardants is on hold until the new legislative season begins. The legislation is similar to a bill recently defeated in California that would have removed the safe and effective fire retardant DECA from use in household and commercial products such as computers, televisions and even fire alarms. This proposal has been drastically put on hold, and it does not look as though it has much support going into the new season.
